6th Annual Canadian Taiwanese Cup Basketball Tournament

WCCSA 和 UBCTA 將於2008年10/11-10/12日(週六﹐週日兩天) 在 UBC SRC 舉行第六屆加台籃球比賽。受邀參賽隊伍共計15隊﹐每隊球員10-15名。估計到場球員及觀眾人數約250-300人。屆時許多優秀的籃球精英及熱愛籃球活動的人士們將齊聚一堂﹐共同參與這場專為加西台灣朋友們所舉辦的籃球聯賽。

此次活動地點將設於UBC SRC體育館舉行。比賽項目包括5對5球賽(全場﹐40分鐘) 受邀隊伍有UBC TA, NPGA等台灣學生社團之代表球隊以及來自舊金山07 CTC 衛冕隊，還有許多位於加西的青年朋友與社會人士等將參與此次活動。本會將聘請BCBRA的專業裁判來評判比賽﹐以達到球賽的最高公平性及品質。

獎金為: 第一名獎牌 (每人一面)
第二名獎牌 (每人一面)

歡迎喜歡籃球的觀眾來為UBCTA隊加油! 星期天第一場比賽為 11am!

The 6th Annual Canadian Taiwanese Cup (CTC) Basketball Tournament will be hosted by the Western Canada Chinese Sports Association and co-hosted by UBCTA and will be held on 2008 Oct 11th to 12th at UBC SRC. This year 15 teams will compete for the title and a weekend of fun, friendly and exciting hoop actions.

Opening ceremony, drawing of brackets, round robin and exhibition games (for girl only) will be held on the first day. Round robin play will continue on the second day, and the playoffs and closing ceremony will fellow later in the day. We welcome all the attendees for this event.

If you are a basketball fan, come on out and cheer the UBCTA team on! Sunday's first game is 11am!

1. Departure Time
8:30am - UBC Rose Garden & SFU B-Lot (Please see attachment for direction to SFU B-Lot)
9:30am - (Bus 6&7) 2nd pick up at 8 Rinks (Please see attachment to 8 Rinks)
Please come on time! Also make sure WHERE your location is by checking the attachment

2. Sportmart Rental
If you are using the coupon for rental at Sportmart. Please contact Sportmart immediately.
There has been some feedbacks on confusion with the rental, I highly recommend sorting out details with Sportmart ASAP

十月五日，六日UBCTA Assistant Orientation會在SUB 214和216舉行。
我們將會介紹每位幹部和部門，他們的工作和責任。
現在需要assistant的活動有: 舞會，捐血，家族(是整年的喔)，Career Mentorship Program，滑雪，Internal Icebreaker。
這次的活動會很清楚的解釋每個TA部門的所需，讓大家更清楚TA的內部活動。
歡迎所有assistant或是想當我們的assistant的人來參加。

On October 5 and 6, UBCTA Assistant Orientation will be held in SUB 214 and 216.
We will introduce every Executive and department, and about their jobs and responsibilities.
Currently we need assistants in the following events: Clubbing, Blood Donation, Family (For the year), Career Mentorship, Ski trip and Internal Icebreaker.
This orientation will thoroughly explain about the needs of every TA departments, allowing detailed understanding of TA’s internal functioning.

The theme of this year focuses on comparing and contrasting Taiwanese and Canadian young adults. Any ideas on how to present this theme, as well as any writings of interest are welcome.
